Quick Andrew Update

Just some quick news. I spoke with the doctor and Andrew's ultrasound results finally came in, and his kidneys are fine!! That's what we were hoping for. At this point, it just means that the antibiotics are working, and there is no infection! He should have another ultrasound in a couple months to continue tracking his kidneys, and then in probably about 6 months or so he will have another VCUG test and that test should determine whether or not he has to have surgery, but that is still months away, so we will tackle that obstacle when we come to it!

Birthday Present

My birthday present from my sweet mom this year was to buy me a new outfit, however after giving birth to my little boy a day before my birthday, I decided to wait until I was down to a weight and size I felt good in. Needless to say, I am there and we went shopping! We had a great day, and it was a lot of fun spending the day with her! Below is the outfit she bought me. I LOVE it, and couldn't be happier! I am so glad I waited and am even more pleased with the outfit we found! Thanks mom for a great day and birthday present!!

Crawling!!!

It has been a quite a while since our last update, and I'll let you in on some things that have been happening. Andrew is growing sooo fast, and we can't believe he is already 8 months old! It has been a wonderful journey and we are so in love with our little guy. Andrew loves to eat!!! He will eat just about anything, he's not a fan of vegetables, but he will eat them so long as I mix them with something sweet. We can't get him to drink out of ANY bottle (little frustrating), he won't take a normal bottle, sippy cup, water bottle...nothing, that has been our challenge as of lately. He is making a ton of silly faces, and we love it! He is such a little cutie. Also our exciting news is that Andrew can finally CRAWL!!!! He doesn't do it very often (he prefers to scoot), but I am so happy he can do it. Also in the life of Andrew - he has figured out how to pull himself up in his crib!!! It's adorable, because as you see below he just sits on his knees and chews on the crib while making the sweetest faces. Because of Andrew's size, he will now be on the lowest setting of his crib...they grow so fast! One more side note, Andrew has both of his front bottom teeth and more are coming! I think that's it for him....I am still waiting for his ultrasound results to come back and when they do I will fill everyone in. As for Jon, we celebrated his 26th BIRTHDAY on October 2nd! I planned a special night for just the two of us to surprise him (sorry we didn't take any pictures), I went ahead and booked us a night stay in downtown Seattle at the Grand Hyatt! He was shocked and we had an absolute blast! My sweet sister-in-law Julianna was willing to watch Andrew for the weekend while Jon and I had some alone time, it was fantastic! We went out to dinner, went to pike place market, played games at game world (while waiting for dinner), and then of course we went to Babies "R" Us and bought our little boy some toys! It was a special weekend and I'm wishing my sweet Husband another wonderful Year!!! As for me, I am just staying busy with Andrew! I love my little guy and am so blessed to be able to stay home and play with my him! I think that's it in the Life of the Leavitts! Enjoy the pictures of our every growing little man!

Andrew can finally crawl!!! He started on Oct. 1st (8 months old)!!! You'll have to excuse the video... It was taken on my cell phone and isn't 100% clear, You'll also have to excuse me on the video I was really excited for my little guy and started screaming, it sounds kinda silly on video, but I can't help it! :-) He still chooses to army crawl his way around, I think it's because he's more used to it, and it's easier for him right now, but he's shown me he can do it now, and I couldn't be happier!!

Family Fun

We had a great day yesterday!!! It was BEAUTIFUL outside, and after church we headed out to McCleary to have dinner with Jon's family. The dinner was delicious, nothing better than Leavitt Tacos! After dinner we went ahead and played Rook (it's a card game)!!! It was so fun, and I think we were all a little tired, because all of us were making mistakes, EXCEPT for Dad Leavitt, he's in it to win it, there's no making mistakes when it comes to him playing! Regardless we had a BLAST. Before we had dinner though, we went ahead and took a couple family pictures outside, they turned out nicely! We were going to take a couple more after dinner, but what do you know Andrew spit up all over his outfit, and so we didn't get a chance, but we will get some done here at the end of the month! As for Andrew, he had a doctor's appointment on Friday, and drum roll......he is 19.3 lbs & 28" long!!! He is in the 90th percentile for his height and 75th for his weight. We can't believe how fast he is growing! As a side note: Andrew is scheduled to have another ultrasound here very soon to make sure his Kidney's are fine and that there is no infection, and we will keep you posted as to what they find soon! Other than that we are soo happy and are blessed to have each other!

Andrew found himself a new toy, he had such a blast playing with Grandma Leavitt's birthday balloons!!
As you can see in the picture Andrew is getting ready to crawl, he's got the stance down, now if he could just coordinate himself to put the arms and the legs together! He tried yesterday, and face-planted. Soon enough though, we will have a little monster crawling all over the floor, and getting into everything! I am very excited and it has been such a joy to watch him learn and grow!!

First Family Vacation

We took our first real vacation. It was definately not long enough, but it was relaxing none the less. We packed our bags and went camping out at Banks Lake in Eastern Washington with Jon's family, and about 9 other families from different wards. It is a yearly tradition with some families in the area, and this year we decided to join. We had a fabulous time! Andrew hated his life jacket, fell asleep on the boat (every time), decided not to sleep in his own spot in the tent, but on mine, loved the water (so long as he didn't have to wear his life jacket), didn't mind the sun, and all together was HAPPY! Jon and I had some great together time also! We have to thank Grandma Leavitt for watching Andrew (a ton) so we could play in the water and just be together! It was nice to get away and hopefully we will be able to join them again next year!
Andrew decided to give Jon a break and so he drove for a while!!!
Andrew in his life jacket on his first ride in a boat! He's not so sure about it...

Rice Cereal

Here is Andrew Trying rice cereal, the result - he HATED it! The video kind of cuts off at the end, but he really did start crying from having to try it. We have yet to try again, but will soon!

Days To Remember

These are definately the days that make motherhood totally worth it!!! The funny moments, and the looks on their faces when it happens, I love my happy boy and can't believe he was this happy when we found him. It was a beautiful sunday morning, and Jon and I were getting ready for church when we hear our little boy playing and making noises in his crib and we realize he is up from his nap. Jon goes ahead to get him out, and as soon as he gets in the room, I hear "Margaret get in here," thinking something might be wrong I come running into his room, and this is what I see!!! Andrew had apparently been sleeping and moving around so much that his diaper was still strapped, but now only to him and not his diaper!!! It was sooo funny, and the look on Andrew's face said it all. These are the days to remember!
