Smiles Don't Get Bigger

Than This!
We have had a quad for a couple years now, but haven't been able to get it working. Jon had been taking it apart over and over again trying to get it running and nothing seemed to be working! Turns out the last final issue it had was that it needed an oil change, go figure. After that (and many other fixes) Jon was able to get it running and him and Andrew had a BLAST riding it around. Andrew was smiling from ear to ear, nothing could've made that smile disappear, and I'm glad! I'm looking forward to many more quading adventures this summer!

Tuesday Play Date

Sleeping Keira (she's adorable)!
Apparently Andrew thought KB needed a little extra push

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to meet up with Krystal and her kids Weston and Keira for a park and picnic lunch date! It was a gorgeous day outside and we soaked it up. The kids had a blast running around, building bark castles, and playing on the playground. And when we finally were ready to go, ducks graced our presence, I had brought bread just in case they did. We did read the sign and although it said "feeding the ducks may be harmful to their health, it didn't say we couldn't." So we did let the kids give them a couple pieces of plain bread, but let's be honest, they mostly just enjoyed running after them. Thank you Krystal for coming out with us, I look forward to another play date soon!

I've never seen a "cheese face" better than this one! Love him.

BBQ & Water Fights

Does a "getting water thrown at you face" picture get better than that?
I think not.

We were blessed with beautiful weather last weekend and the beginning of this week, so on Monday we decided to head out to Jon's parents house. Jon had some work to finish up, but I decided to go out with the boys, hang out and have a BBQ. To my surprise there was a lot of people home, Mom, Dad, Josh, Ashtyn (Josh's gf who showed up after school), Melany, Colten, Cailyn, and Tiffany all came out too! It was nice to chit-chat hang out and watch Tiffany and Andrew get into a massive water fight. Meanwhile, I took pictures, laid out in the sun and Kenneth just dumped water in and out of a bucket. (he's not quite into the water fight stage yet). LOVED being out there with everyone, and watching the water fight madness. It made for a GREAT afternoon!

Aunt Tiffany

Dear Aunt Tiffany,

I cannot express how grateful we are to have you home! I wanted to let you know how much we love and appreciate you. I loved going on our little movie date on Wednesday, it was fabulous (aside from me getting sick)! Thank you for taking me out. I look forward to many, many more girl dates with you!

I am so grateful for you and your love for Andrew and Kenneth! Most especially on Andrew, I cannot express to you how much he loves you. He gets so excited when we say you are coming over or if we are going somewhere to see you. I know it has every bit to do with the effort you put in to being a great Aunt. There was nothing better than watching you two play together on Saturday and Monday. He wouldn't stop talking about running around with you and getting you all wet. You make his day and I love that. Thank you for not being "too big" to run through the sprinklers, have a little water fight, or wrestling match. Thank you for being an Aunt the kids can play with, look up too, learn from, and love. I hope you never stop being who you are, because we love everything about you. You are welcome over anytime. We love you!

Sugar

Each of my children have their own special endearing names that I give them and Kenneth just happens to be my sugar. I don't know why, but when I started calling him my sugar, he would bust into what we call his sugar dance. Anytime I ask him "Hey KB are you my sugar," he will usually (unless he straight up tells me no - which he is prone to do) stick his little toosh out there and shake his arms and do his little sugar dance. It just kills me! He is adorable and I will hold onto my sugar and his little dance as long as I can!

Mother's Day

I had a FABULOUS Mother's Day! I am one lucky momma. Jon spoiled me with a delicious breakfast - hashbrown, egg, turkey bacon filled biscuits and a sweet gift. I had mentioned to him that I would like to replace my flat iron, because mine is over 10yrs old and every time I use it I get a blister on my thumb from squeezing it closed. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting it for Mother's Day (or anyday soon really), but him and Andrew went out and picked me out the one I had been eyeing, and I LOVE it!
Right before we ate breakfast

We had a beautiful day at church, then we headed out to Jon's parents house for lunch, where we celebrated with his Family, and around 5pm, we were at my parent's house for dinner. I am so blessed to have a wonderful and loving mom. She helped shape me into who I am today and I could not be more grateful. I know my Mom is always there when I need her and I know I can trust and come to her with anything. I am also grateful for a wonderful Mother (in-law) who has welcomed and accepted me as one of her daughters. I have truly felt that our relationship has blossomed over this past year. Although the holidays are always a little crazy, we are so lucky to live by both our Mother's and be able to share our experiences and learn and grow for each of them. Thank you to both our Mom's for always being people we can look up too. We love you!!!

Now, as grateful as I am for the Mom's in my life, I am eternally blessed with the fact that I am a Mother. I have the sweetest, craziest, most energetic boys a mommy could ask for. To say they keep me busy is an understatement. At times, they try my patience, make me frustrated, and just do things that make me crazy, but then there is the majority of the time where they are loving, kind, gracious, helpful, and they fill my life with more love, smiles, laughter, and tears than I ever thought possible. I love these two boys with all my heart and couldn't have asked for better sons. I am grateful that my Heavenly Father entrusted me with their care! Thank you Andrew and Kenneth for allowing me to be your Mother!

Impromptu 65-Miler

As many of you know, my mom and I are training for the STP this July. My mom has a couple friends who asked her to do an impromptu 65 70-mile bike race on Saturday May 5th. She called a couple days prior and asked me if I wanted to do it also. I was a little hesitant because the most miles I had gone was 40 and it was the weekend prior. With slight hesitation and making sure I could borrow a street bike from someone, I signed up. We (Jon, I + kids) headed down to Oregon (Timberland Lodge) on Friday to attend my cousin's wedding (which was beautiful). After the wedding my dad, Jon and the kids headed home, while my mom and I stayed at a friends home to get some sleep and be ready for the race the next morning.
After a rough night sleep, we woke up and were at the race grounds (Clark College) by 8:00am. We started our race around 8:30am. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but what I can say is that the "race" was hard! I have never done so many hills! Maybe it was a sign that I should. The country was beautiful and I did end up completely the race in just over 5hrs. I am really grateful for the opportunity that I had to do it. It was a long 70 (it was only supposed to be 65) miles, but it was also fun. Next time though, I'll be sure to buy bike shorts, and the right sized jacket (accidently bought a size too small). I know I still have a lot of training to do, but at least now I know I can do 70 miles!
